Tom O’Neill Joins Incapital LLC

Sandler O’Neill founder among four senior hires as Incapital expands Capital Markets Business

New York, NY and Chicago, IL, February 27, 2017 – Incapital LLC, a leading underwriter and distributor of fixed income securities, today announced that Tom O’Neill has joined the firm as Vice Chairman of Incapital in the Capital Markets Team. He reports jointly to John DesPrez, Chief Executive Officer and Chris O’Connor, Managing Director of Incapital’s Fixed Income division. 

Prior to joining Incapital, Mr. O’Neil served as Co-Chief Executive Officer of The Kimberlite Group LLC, which he co-founded in 2013. He previously served as Chairman of the holding company of First Allied, a U.S. broker-dealer and Chairman of Ranieri Partners Financial Services Group, where he assisted in acquiring and running money management businesses.

Most notably, he spent 22 years at Sandler O'Neill & Partners LP, a leading investment bank that he co-founded in 1988.

David Connelly, Sean McKenna, Paul Steinborn join Capital Markets Team

Incapital also announced that David Connelly, Sean McKenna and Paul Steinborn have joined the firm’s Capital Markets team. More specifically, Mr. Connelly joins as Managing Director and Co-Manager of Capital Markets, where Messrs. McKenna and Steinborn join as Managing Director and Senior Vice President, respectively. All three members report to Chris O’Connor and their appointments are effective immediately.

A 28-year fixed income Wall Street veteran, Mr. Connelly previously worked with Mr. O’Neill at Kimberlite, where he served as President and Managing Director, responsible for specialty finance and structured products. Previously, he was a Senior Managing Director at Bear Stearns & Co. where he managed the institutional fixed income desk in Chicago for 25 years.

With over 20 years' experience as a lawyer, banker and hedge fund manager, Mr. McKenna most recently served as Co-Founder of Great Curve Merchant Partners, a merchant banking firm focused on investments in financial institutions and fintech. Previously, he was a partner at C12 Capital and a banker at Barclays as a senior member of the bank's legacy and proprietary mortgage and credit trading desk.

Mr. Steinborn, a seasoned private equity and hedge fund investment professional with over 10 years’ experience in banking, investment management, direct lending, private equity and venture capital strategies, most recently served as a Managing Director at Great Curve Merchant Partners. Previously, he was a senior investment professional in the corporate credit group at Guggenheim Partners, where he covered the financial services, real estate and automotive sectors.
